Michael's Birthday - Together

Today we celebrate the anniversary of the birth of my dear husband.  What a treasure he is!  When I married him, I loved him with all of my heart and I knew I was blessed that he had chosen me for his bride.  But it really wasn't until our latter years that I have come to truly appreciate all that he is.  He is an anchor.

Though we are both very much in the throngs of grief, he is firm, resolute, unwavering...just like always.  We share memories.  We share hurts.  We cry together.  He prays over me and for me, recites Scripture, remembers God's faithfulness, has a heart of thankfulness, reminds me of what I know.

I have led a charmed life.  A blessed life.  It really never dawned on me that I would be facing the unimaginable.  But, oh, how thankful I am that God gave me the gift of this wonderful man to walk beside!  There is no greater earthly treasure.
