Fun, sweet birthday boy...
With the siblings...
Looking through pictures, I noticed that there are quite a few of us who look like we've not seen a hairbrush in awhile! 😁
Birthday fudge... (like father, like son)
ELEVEN!!!!
You can't tell from the picture, but he is actually saying his birthday prayer. He lifted the candles out of the fudge (which hadn't set up yet) so they wouldn't continue to sink. Ahhh, memories... 😂
One of the things I love about birthday celebrations is the craziness that ensues! There's always some antics that, though not fully captured in the online blog, get briefly captured in pictures. I love this crazy clan!
Wallace has had a difficult 4 years. During a time when most boys his age are dealing with the hard stuff of regular life (hormones, social skills, school, and just learning how to be a boy) he has also had to deal with the grief of losing his best friend. It's been a struggle for him. It amazes me how much he's changed in the last 4 years. Though he used to hold himself back for William's sake, he no longer does. But he is also not easy going and carefree anymore. He has weighty concerns that a boy his age should not have to deal with. But he is also learning to lean heavily on the Lord at a much younger age than many. The depth of his questions sometimes astounds me. Though it is still solidifying, I am proud of his character. He is thoughtful and kind. He is cognizant of needs around him, especially mine and those of his sisters'. He works to be noble and virtuous and he gravitates toward young men who are the same. How grateful I am to be his mother!
